We allow time to observe, approach and join in. Music and play bring familiarity; a glance, an imitation or a softly sung sound is worth noticing.
THE APPROACH AT THIS STAGE
Rhythm, songs, age-appropriate objects and textures connect Mandarin sounds with everyday words. PG begins with music and sensory experience rather than picture-book themes, character learning or writing.
LITERACY HAS ITS OWN RHYTHM
Grasping, touching and two-handed exploration come first; formal stroke writing is not introduced at this stage.
